Easy to make Christmas cake pops

Easy to make Christmas cake pops | Elodie Details - Christmas Is the cosiest time of the year, if you ask us. Music is heard from every corner and square, and the Christmas lights bring a warm, fuzzy feeling. The season also invites us into the kitchen, to try out new delicious Christmas recipes. So, put on the carols, pick up the apron and let the children participate. We have found a recipe that both adults and children will love — Christmas cake pops. Start baking and let your imagination run wild when it's time to decorate. Ingredients: 500 grams soft gingerbread 150 grams of Philadelphia, or other natural cream cheese 300 grams white or dark chocolate Accessories: Lollipop sticks or straws Sprinkles (you can even crush sweets like candy canes to make sprinkles)   Method: 1. Process the gingerbread into fine crumbs in a blender or food processor, in batches if necessary. 2. Stir the gingerbread crumbs together with the cream cheese. 3. Form the mixture into balls of your prefered size and let set in the fridge for 30 minutes. 4. Melt the chocolate. 5. Stick your sticks or straws into your cake pop balls and carefully dip them in the melted chocolate. 6. Decorate with sprinkles. 7. Place the cake pops on a plate so that they are not touching, or put the sticks into a bit of Styrofoam or similar so they are standing up. Let them set in the fridge. Enjoy! Making Black Friday Sustainable Friday

Making Black Friday Sustainable Friday | Elodie Details - The most intense shopping weekend of the year is upon us. Not the most sustainable idea for brands, and definitely not something that benefits our environment. At the core of Elodie’s sustainability philosophy lies the concept of Buy Less, so we’ve decided not to be a part of this anymore. We want the opposite. We want high quality, long life and second-hand value to be the deciding factors when you’re making your consumer choices. We want you to upcycle Elodie products and find new uses for them once they’ve fulfilled their initial purpose. Don’t throw anything away, scroll down to find tips and links that help you in joining our mission to prolong the life of your cherished baby products. SECOND-HAND TREASURES We encourage second-hand buying and selling to slow down the pace in which we consume. Here is a list of great second-hand websites and stores where you can find vintage Elodie: UPCYCLING – GIVE OUR PRODUCTS A SECOND LIFE Multi-functionality is central to our design and development process. Every product should have the potential for a second life after its original purpose has been fulfilled. Here are a couple of our favourite suggestions on upcycling Elodie products: The Changing Bag We purposely design our changing bags to be suited for multiple situations, both aesthetically and functionally. When your little one is grown, the changing bag can be used as a gym bag, office bag or weekend bag.   The Zip&Go The Zip&Go is our version of a vanity bag, designed to fit nappies, diapers and wet wipes. But there are hundreds of other potential uses for it when the nappy days are over. To name a few examples it easily converts into a holder of your make-up, nail polish or chargers — always ready at hand when you’re on the go. It’s a product that can last a lifetime.     DISCOVER PRODUCTS

Upcycle your baby blankets to pillows

Upcycle your baby blankets to pillows | Elodie Details - Ann-Kathrin Stade has a deep passion for sustainable choices and a mindful approach to our precious environment and resources. She shares creative DIY and upcycling projects on her Instagram channel @rock.my.day, with the mission to prolong the lifespan of treasured possessions and give them a second life when their original purpose is fulfilled. She has created a DIY guide on how to make Elodie baby blankets into pillows — an inventive way to spare the planets resources by upcycling. Here we go! You need:  Baby blanket Pillow Pins Zippers Push buttons or Velcro points  Sewing machine Scissors    MUSLIN BLANKET TO PILLOW For this style made with a muslin blanket, we recommend making a pillow with the dimensions of 38 x 38 cm, so you can easily create an edging. Firstly, place the long side seams onto each other and topstitch with overhang. Then close one of the open sides and sew the seam. Now adjust your work to the length of the pillow and fold over the edges of the open side by 2 centimetres. Turn the work outside in and attach the zipper with the help of pins. If the zipper is shorter than the pillow side, pin the open ends and sew it up. Finally, insert the pillow in the finished cover and enjoy your new pillow!   KNITTED BLANKET TO PILLOW Cushions that measures 35 x 35 cm and 40 x 40 cm are particularly suitable for the knitted baby blankets. You don’t even need a zipper or snaps thanks to the overlap. Lay one end of the blanket over the other, according to the cushion dimensions. Then mark the cushion dimensions at the two open ends and cut them accordingly.  Close both sides with the straight stitch of the sewing machine and stich the edges precisely to prevent the knitting stitches from coming off. Then put the pillow in the cover and you have made yourself a new pillow!   SHOP THE LOOK
